For Blaine Barber it was a blast from his previous, a possibility to revisit the former Yonge St. HMV retailer exactly where he had bought hundreds of records. But this time he walked out of the very same address with a diverse variety of solution: the type he can smoke.

“I believed it was going to be substantially bigger,” Barber, 49, stated when he walked into the Tokyo Smoke cannabis retailer. Situated north of Yonge-Dundas Square, it opened Monday and saw a steady stream of clients.

The retailer is intentionally kept little. Shop management stated demand will dictate the pace at which they expand, with sufficient area to go up to about six,000 square feet from its existing 1,500 square feet.
